Benefits of exercise during pregnancy

We are told that keeping moving and active is “good for you” during our lives for a whole host of reasons, after all, it isn’t just about helping with weight management or muscle gain.

When it comes to exercise during pregnancy there are huge additional benefits in keeping active both as you prepare for birth and in relation to your post natal recovery.

Some of the benefits of moderate levels of exercise can help with the following:

  • less back ache during pregnancy

  • improved posture,

  • decreased stress and anxiety,

  • boosting your energy levels

  • help with your ability to cope with labour and delivery – I can’t promise pain free but effectively training your body can help speed things up!

Plus, continuing to exercise throughout pregnancy also helps set you up for a faster postnatal recovery and an easier transition into regaining your confidence with fitness once you have had your baby.
